What happens
Gildersleeve must take his twelve-year-old nephew Leroy to the dentist to have a loose baby tooth pulled, but Leroy is reluctant to go alone. The Great Gildersleeve is a long-running comedy series, and this episode aired on NBC on January 19, 1949, starring Harold Peary in the title role, with Willard Waterman, Lillian Randolph and Lurene Tuttle. Early in the day, Leroy's tooth is still in place, and Gildersleeve tries an unorthodox method of extracting it at home. Gildersleeve is reluctant to face the dentist himself and his plans for the afternoon keep changing. The episode covers the morning and early afternoon of his plans and the arrangements around them.
Summerfield, a small town, in winter, centering on Gildersleeve's home, the water department office, and Peavey's drugstore.

Listen for: Gildersleeve's attempt to pull Leroy's tooth at home with a string tied to the door, and his changing feelings about the dentist appointment.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
