What happens
Gildersleeve prepares to appear in court to present a financial report on the Throckmorton estate, but a stubborn case of hiccups keeps interrupting him. Marjorie, Ted, Leroy and Bertie each offer folk remedies, from cold water and breath control to a cold knife and a cold shower, and none seem to work. Gildersleeve's plans to get to court on time, and then to return to Whistle Vista, are repeatedly thrown off course as the household tries one cure after another. The Great Gildersleeve is a comedy series, and this episode was first broadcast on NBC on September 28, 1941. Harold Peary stars as Gildersleeve, with Willard Waterman, Lillian Randolph and Lurene Tuttle in the cast.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
