Harold Peary leads the cast as Gildersleeve, with Willard Waterman, Lillian Randolph and Lurene Tuttle. The episode was first broadcast on NBC on November 5, 1947, as part of The Great Gildersleeve series.

The town of Summerfield, during the autumn harvest season

Characters: Great Gildersleeve, Doris Dowdrimple, Eve Goodwin, Bertie, Marjorie, Leroy, Craig, Judge Hooker

Listen for: Gildersleeve's attempts to hide from his two dates and the awkward hayride arrangements

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
