What happens
Gildersleeve's niece Marjorie and her husband Bronco are having a housewarming, and Marjorie hopes to receive a spinning wheel lamp from Peavey's store. Gildersleeve's nephew Leroy tries to win the lamp for her by guessing the number of beans in a jar at Peavey's shop, spending money on small purchases to earn guesses. Leroy's guesses fall short, so he tries counting the beans himself at home, while the judge Horace interrupts him. Leroy is determined to win the lamp for Marjorie.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
