Gildersleeve and his nephew Leroy set out for Fairview, where Leroy will show his rabbits at a junior breeder show. After mailing their train tickets by mistake, they decide to drive instead, bringing the rabbits along in the rear compartment. The trip proves rough, and a stop for lunch leads to a mix-up with a state highway commissioner and his car. Gildersleeve soon finds himself accused of car theft and held by police, with explosives discovered in the vehicle adding to the trouble. The episode is part of The Great Gildersleeve, broadcast on NBC on January 11, 1942, starring Harold Peary.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
