What happens
Gildersleeve hosts Bronco's parents, the Thompsons, for an evening at his house while Bronco and Margie care for their newborn twins. Mr. Thompson is amiable but absent-minded, and Mrs. Thompson is a critical guest who soon moves in and begins instructing everyone on how to run the household. Gildersleeve, eager to keep the peace, tries to be a good host despite the growing strain. Margie and Bronco's household is busy with feeding schedules and daily chores while the guests linger. Mr. Thompson's absences and his telegrams keep the stay going longer than anyone expected. The Great Gildersleeve is a radio comedy series; this episode aired on NBC on May 23, 1951, with Harold Peary and Willard Waterman among the cast.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
