What happens

Gildersleeve is worried that his nephew Leroy is slipping out of his control, especially over a dance across town that Leroy wants to attend in Dinky's car. Determined to win back his authority, Gildersleeve decides to ask Bertie's advice in front of Leroy and to enlist others in showing deference to his judgment. The Great Gildersleeve is a long-running NBC radio comedy, and this installment aired on November 11, 1953, with Harold Peary in the title role and Willard Waterman, Lillian Randolph and Lurene Tuttle in the cast. The episode centers on family friction, parental pride and a small staged performance.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
