What happens

Fred Allen hosts a broadcast of his Town Hall program from Hollywood, joined by his announcer Harry Von Zell and bandleader Peter Van Steeden. The show mixes comic sketches with the sponsors' pitches for Ipana toothpaste and Sal Hepatica. Fred and Harry trade jokes about a local grocer, a new sobering gas invented in Sweden, and a train locomotive named after Lily Pons. Guests include Jack Okeh's choir, who sing Crazy Rhythm, and Andre Johnson of the Neon Light Products Company, who explains how neon signs are made. Throughout, mysterious notes thrown through the window read 'seven more days for Jack Benny.'

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
