What happens

Fred Allen hosts another Town Hall program on June 1, 1938, a variety hour of music and comic sketches with bandleader Peter van Steeden. Allen's mock news bulletins cover a soda siphon gadget, a businessman who eats too fast, a cocktail glass that holds little, and a magazine merger. A couple, Mr. and Mrs. Bangs, air their marital complaints before a panel. Allen then talks with dancer John Boyle about the history of dance and the buck and wing, and the cast sings a novelty song. Allen's old reminiscences of arriving in New York as a young man add a personal note along the way.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
