What happens
Fred Allen hosts a Town Hall Tonight broadcast, and the program is interrupted when Stoopnagle and Budd, two comedians, arrive at the studio believing they are due to take over the show for the summer. Their confusion over the dates causes chaos among the staff, with a florist also arriving to collect payment for gardenias ordered for the premiere. Harry Von Zell attempts to sort out the mix-up before the broadcast continues. The episode features a mix of sketches, including a painless-firing routine, a doctor's visit from the past, and a political rally with the candidate Elmer. Fred Allen, Portland Hoffa, Kenny Delmar and Minerva Pious appear in the cast. The original air date is June 17, 1936.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
