What happens

Fred Allen hosts another installment of his Town Hall Tonight variety program, which runs on the radio. The broadcast opens with a Washington's Birthday segment, followed by a series of street interviews. A New York artist and a Mrs. Sadie Tremaine offer their views on decorating the subway with murals, while a commuter named Tom Cassidy complains about his crowded daily ride to Borough Hall. Sketches, songs and a visit from a glassblower named Carl Schumann, who explains his work for television tubes, follow. Allen's guests and sidekicks Harry and Portland Hoffa trade jokes throughout the show.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
