What happens

Fred Allen hosts a comedy broadcast of his show, featuring a mock news report in which lobbyist Irving Slink argues that New York State should legalize lotteries and bingo, and a movie theater owner named Simeon Franz recounts his bingo disaster. A sketch follows where Mr. Wentz wins a state lottery, but a series of tax collectors arrive and take nearly all of his winnings. Heavyweight champion Joe Louis then visits the program and describes his training routine, and the broadcast continues with other segments including a mock forum and commercial spots.

A radio variety program broadcast from a New York studio, with comic sketches set in Albany, a New York City apartment, and a studio interview.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
