What happens

Fred Allen hosts his radio show, which features comedic sketches and interviews with his regular cast. Fred and Portland Hoffa discuss Thanksgiving, Portland's mother's social life, and the President's proposed national health plan, which Fred explores through a series of street-corner interviews with a senator, a neighbor named Titus Moody, and Mrs. Nussbaum. Later, Leo Durocher returns from a tour entertaining troops in Japan, and Fred pitches him a comic opera called The Brooklyn Pinafore, set around a Dodgers game, with Durocher as its star. The show is part of the Fred Allen series, first broadcast on November 25, 1945, and features Fred Allen, Portland Hoffa, Kenny Delmar and Minerva Pious.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
