What happens

Fred Allen's radio show opens with an exchange about Benjamin Franklin before the cast turns to the question of anti-bribery legislation prompted by a recent attempt to bribe professional football players. Fred Allen, Portland Hoffa and Kenny Delmar banter in the studio, and the program moves into a series of comic sketches. Senator Claghorn explains his view of bribery in the South, Titus Moody recounts a losing wager on a Rose Bowl game, and Mrs. Nussbaum describes a card game. Later, Archie of Duffy's Tavern tries to sell the bar to Fred Allen, who has come in answer to a newspaper advertisement, and the sketch turns on the bar's claimed secrets and an unexpected visitor.

A radio studio and comic sketch settings including Allen's Alley, a tavern, and a bar, presented as a live radio comedy program.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
