What happens

Fibber McGee wakes up grumpy and tumbles out of bed through an open window, but his wife Molly soon has him in a cheerful mood. A series of unusually friendly neighbors arrive one after another, including Mr. Gildersleeve, Mrs. Uppington and Boomer, each showering the McGees with kindness. The McGees grow suspicious of all the goodwill, and the mood on Wistful Vista turns increasingly strange. The episode is from the long-running series Fibber McGee and Molly, first broadcast on NBC Radio on February 6, 1940, starring Harold Peary, Bill Thompson, Gale Gordon and Arthur Q. Bryan.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
