What happens

Fibber McGee and Molly search their cluttered attic and find an old army uniform and a letter from Fibber's great-uncle Jefferson. The letter claims he hid $20,000 in the upholstery of a horsehair sofa. Excited, the couple hunt through the house for the note they vaguely remember writing about the sofa, while neighbors Mrs. Uppington, Mr. Wimple and Mr. Wilcox come and go. The episode is part of the Fibber McGee and Molly series, first broadcast on NBC Radio on November 17, 1942, with Harold Peary, Bill Thompson, Gale Gordon and Arthur Q. Bryan in the lead roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
