What happens

Fibber McGee and Molly follows Fibber, who gets his feet stuck in a freshly laid patch of experimental paving tar in front of Joe's tavern while Molly fusses over a special delivery letter he never mailed. Gildersleeve, Mrs. Uppington and a crowd gather as the street commissioner, health department and other officials pass the problem along. Fibber trades insults with Gildersleeve and Wilcox, a young girl keeps him company, and Molly tries to get the inventor of the material to help. The episode was broadcast on NBC Radio on April 29, 1941 and stars Harold Peary, Bill Thompson, Gale Gordon and Arthur Q. Bryan, as heard in the opening portion of the program.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
