What happens
Fibber McGee and Molly is a 1941 episode of the NBC radio series, starring Harold Peary, Bill Thompson, Gale Gordon and Arthur Q. Bryan. On a spring day in Wistful Vista, Gildersleeve climbs onto a ladder to retrieve his tennis ball from a roof, but McGee insists the ladder belongs to him and refuses to let him use it. The argument escalates, and McGee pushes the ladder over with Gildersleeve on it. Molly scolds Fibber for the quarrel, and the two neighbors trade insults by phone and across the lawn. Fibber decides to record an apology at a studio, and the recording becomes complicated when the wrong record reaches Gildersleeve.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
