What happens
Fibber McGee and Molly sit down to fill out their income tax return, which proves confusing from the start. Fibber is baffled by the instructions and the fiscal year terms, and the couple soon realises the form is a joint return and that the blank they hold is last year's. Fibber tries to phone Washington about the mix-up while visitors drop in, including Harry Von Zell, who wants to discuss a paid endorsement, and Wellington, who arrives with a complaint about Fibber's cigar. The tax form is accidentally burned and the household's confusion continues. Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
