What happens
Fibber McGee and Molly are supposed to clean out their hall closet, but Fibber keeps stalling and the job drags on. Molly pushes him to get started as the couple hunt through a jumble of old junk, including a music box and a marble Venus clock. A string of visitors interrupts them, among them a neighbor named Mr. Wimple, who has a poem to share, and a caller who asks about radio listening. Fibber and Molly are on NBC Radio in this February 1943 episode of Fibber McGee and Molly, sponsored by Johnson's Wax. Harold Peary, Bill Thompson, Gale Gordon and Arthur Q. Bryan are among the lead actors heard in the story.
The McGee home at 79 Wistful Vista, where the hall closet is being cleaned out
Characters: Fibber McGee, Molly McGee, Mr. Wimple, Mr. Wilcox, Old Timer
Listen for: Fibber's excuses for avoiding the closet cleaning and the stream of visitors who keep interrupting the job
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
