What happens
Jim Anderson spends a rainy day at home in Springfield with his wife Margaret and their children Kathy, Bud, Betty, and Jim. The children are kept home from school, and Jim settles in to read while the house grows noisy and restless. Margaret worries about her own mood and the family's squabbling, and Jim begins to wonder whether he has been too hard on the children. The episode is part of the Father Knows Best series, which was first broadcast on March 25, 1954, with Robert Young as Father.

Listen for: Jim's conversation with Margaret about his changed attitude toward the children
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
