What happens
Jim Anderson, the father in the Anderson household of Springfield, is feeling his age after a phone call invites him and his wife Margaret to play badminton with the Phillips. Margaret worries they are too old for the game, and Jim begins to doubt himself. The episode is from the radio series Father Knows Best, first broadcast on April 23, 1953, with Robert Young as the father. Jim receives a letter from his old school friend Eddie Gilbert, who is a grandfather, and this news unsettles him further. Jim's children, Betty, Bud, Kathy and Bud's friends, appear around the house as the family prepares for Betty's friend's wedding and their evening plans.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
