What happens
Jim Anderson, a father in Springfield, finds the family home flooded with door-to-door salesmen after his wife Margaret signs up for magazine subscriptions and books. Jim becomes exasperated as the purchases pile up, including a poultry breeders bulletin, a set of bird books, a baseball glove, and a sweater his daughter Betty charged. The episode is from the Father Knows Best series, first broadcast on October 5, 1950, starring Robert Young as Jim Anderson, and is sponsored along the way by Maxwell House coffee.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
