What happens

Jim Anderson, an average father on Maple Street, faces a household of demands on a Saturday morning. His wife Margaret, son Bud and daughter Betty and Kathy all press him for hot water, a new dress, and a trip to Plainville for Bud and his friends. Jim tries to balance the family's wishes with his own needs for a shave and a hunting trip with friends. Father Knows Best aired on 1951-03-08 and starred Robert Young as Jim, with Ted Donaldson as Bud, and the episode follows the Anderson family's complications through the day.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
