What happens
Rebel leader Alacran launches a revolution in a Caribbean district and comes personally to the plantation of Barry O'Grady, a man he has a grudge against. O'Grady escapes into the night with the governor's daughter, Maria, whose car he has seized at roadside, and the two flee through the jungle while Alacran's men pursue them. Their attempts to find safety in a village church and then in the wilds force them to rely on each other. Escape presents this radio drama as Les Crutchfield's story, from the series of adventure dramas, first broadcast on March 18, 1954.
A Caribbean republic during a revolution, including a coffee plantation, a jungle road, a village, a church and a Mayan pyramid in the Via Diablo jungle.
Characters: Barry O'Grady, Alacran, Maria, Pupita, Padre
Listen for: The sound of Alacran's men searching the church and the dogs tracking O'Grady and Maria through the jungle.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
