What happens

Escape presents the story of Eric Herrick, a brilliant nuclear physicist who has defected from East Germany and is being escorted to Hanover for British intelligence by Bruce Kellender. As their train rolls on, Herrick reveals he came back because he realized he had picked the wrong side, and he has handed over details of East German atomic installations. Kellender learns from Dietrich, the conductor, that an agent may have planted a bomb aboard the train set to explode if it stops before the Oker River. Kellender and Herrick search the baggage and passengers, racing against the clock as the train nears the bridge.

Listen for: The gradual revelation of the bomb threat and the search through the baggage car

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
