What happens

Four men from Earth land on Mars and walk into a small town, where they meet ordinary-looking people who seem friendly at first. Captain Williams, Lieutenant Prescott, Sergeant Clithero and Dugan try to tell the townspeople who they are and where they have come from. Their reception turns hostile, and they are taken to an institute where a doctor begins to treat them as patients. Escape presents Ray Bradbury's science fiction story The Earthman, a 1951 broadcast of the series. The episode is adapted by Walter Newman and directed by Norman Macdonald, with Parley Baer among the cast.

Characters: Captain Jonathan Williams, Lieutenant Prescott, Dugan, Sergeant Clithero, Dr. Boo

Listen for: Captain Williams insisting that the crew are from Earth, and the doctor's gradual insistence that they are only hallucinations

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
