What happens

Mark Litten, a petroleum engineer just back from Venezuela, returns to New York to find his new wife Ellie's former suitor, Cory Lathrop, shot dead in their apartment. Searching for Ellie, he learns from gambler Victor Dittorio that she has gone to Mexico City. Litten follows her there, where he meets a hotel impostor posing as his wife, a bartender named George, and a desk clerk who sells information. The tangle of false identities and threats pulls him toward Acapulco and a villa on the shore highway, where the danger grows sharper. This episode of the Escape series, first broadcast on February 18, 1951, is adapted from the Patrick Quentin story The Follower and stars Bill Conrad as Mark Litten.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
