What happens

Escape presents Two Came Back, based on a story by Jules Archer and broadcast on August 4, 1950. Johnny Walker, a former soldier, is persuaded by his old comrade Gabe to join him on a trip to New Guinea in search of a gold strike. The three travel from San Francisco through the jungle and up the Sepik River, facing hardship, rivalry and tension among themselves. The episode follows their expedition as it reaches the gold and the group's relationships begin to strain.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
