What happens
Martin Storm is a passenger on the liner Chancay, sailing from Venezuela to New York, who has smuggled a live bushmaster snake aboard for a museum. Captain Wood and the ship's officers learn of the deadly snake when it escapes its crate, and they must search the vessel while keeping the passengers from panicking. Martin's guilt grows as the search drags on through tense nights. The Escape series aired this episode, originally broadcast on July 7, 1950, with David Ellis credited as the author. The transcript ends with the snake loose in the ship's galley, so the outcome is not yet shown.
A liner sailing from La Guaira, Venezuela, to New York across the Caribbean, with earlier scenes in the Venezuelan jungle.

Listen for: The sharp, slithering menace of the bushmaster and the tension of the ship-wide search.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
