What happens

Elizabeth White picks up a drenched hitchhiker named Peter Whittlesley on a lonely Nevada road. He tells her he is a foreign spy who wants to give himself up and return to America. Two men in a black delivery truck stop her at a fork in the road and question her, and she begins to suspect the truck's markings are not what they seem. Elizabeth races to help the hitchhiker, and her drive through the desert turns dangerous. This episode is from the Escape series, aired May 12, 1950, and stars Nancy Kelly.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
