What happens

Lieutenant Cohill and Captain Brittles of the US cavalry ride across the prairie west of the Platte River in 1870s frontier country. Cohill's patrol finds the mutilated bodies of Lieutenant Gresham's detail, and the two officers disagree sharply about who is responsible and what the company should do next. Brittles is cautious and wary of confrontation, while Cohill is eager for action and feels the men deserve revenge. The episode is part of the Escape series, which aired on December 6, 1949, and it is performed by Eliot Reed as Cohill, John Stone as Brittles, and Ted DiCocia as Sergeant Utterback.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
