What happens
A ship's doctor is summoned to a lonely schooner in the Caribbean, where he finds an injured old man and a young woman who give conflicting accounts of how he was hurt. As the schooner sails through the night, the doctor realizes he is caught in a tense situation involving the old man, a bank draft worth two million dollars, and a volatile crewman. The story is part of the Escape series, and the episode originally aired on October 15, 1949, with John Hoyt as the doctor and William Conrad in a leading role.
A schooner sailing through the Caribbean near Havana, and later a bank in Venezuela.
Characters: Doctor, Joseph Ingram, Stephanie, Felix Arruz
Listen for: The doctor's realization on the schooner that the bullet wound was not caused by a marlin spike, and Stephanie's conflicting statements about Felix.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
