What happens
District Commissioner warns Linington, a stubborn plantation owner in the Amazon jungle, that a vast army of ants is advancing toward his plantation and will reach it within two days. Linington refuses to leave, relying on his faith in human intelligence, and tells his Indian workers to dig ditches and prepare defenses. The Commissioner returns to watch as the ants approach the water-filled ditches and begin crossing on bridges of debris and leaves. The episode is part of the Escape radio series, broadcast nationally on January 14, 1948. The story is adapted from Carl Stevenson's tale and is told as an adventure of human resourcefulness against a relentless natural force.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
