What happens

Bob Rose, a Hollywood stuntman, prepares for a dangerous scene for the serial The White Eagle, directed by Van Hayden and starring Ruth Rowland. The stunt requires a grass hut on a 40-foot rock to burn and fall into the ocean, with Rose escaping at the last moment. The episode is part of The Daredevils of Hollywood, first broadcast on April 25, 1938. Preparations are made at a Laguna Beach location, and the rigging is set up for the scene. Rose later describes his career in stunts, including a separate airplane stunt for the film The Haunted Valley, in which a boat driver's error leads to a tense moment.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
