What happens

The Comic Weekly Man reads the funnies to a young girl named Hani on the Fourth of July, starting with a conversation about Independence Day and the history of American freedom. He then reads several comic strips from Puck, including Beetle Bailey, where Beetle tries to cool his lemonade with stolen ice, Donald Duck, in which Donald varnishes himself into a corner, Roy Rogers, where a tiger escapes and threatens the cowboy, Flash Gordon, where the party discovers giant grass and signs of giant people on the planet Titan, and Blondie, where Dagwood and his neighbors try to fix a small leak and flood the cellar. The Comic Weekly Man also reads the strips Uncle Remus, Walt Disney's The Sword and the Rose, and Rusty Riley, where a rival gang plots to take the horse Silver Lad.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
