What happens

The Comic Weekly Man reads comic strips from Puck the Comic Weekly to a young listener, Miss Honey. The first strip is Hopalong Cassidy, in which Hoppy chases a train after a stranger steals a deed belonging to his friend Buck Peters. Next comes Prince Valiant, where Val and Alita hold a falconry contest, with each rider's bird trying to make the best catch. Uncle Remus follows, with Brer Rabbit carrying groceries home past a burglar. Donald Duck quits his office job for fresh air, and Dagwood and Blondie visit a hat shop while Dagwood fears losing his job. Roy Rogers and Chubby Wall find a stranded girl at a waterhole, and Dick's Adventures in Dreamland takes a sailor back to the frigate Constitution. Rusty Riley and Pete are taken to town by a deputy sheriff. Each strip ends on a cliffhanger.

Strips from Puck the Comic Weekly, read aloud in a living room, including the American West, medieval Britain, Brer Rabbit's woods, an office and a hat shop, and an early American ship.

Listen for: The Comic Weekly Man reading the comic strips, with Miss Honey commenting on each one.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
