What happens

The Comic Weekly Man reads aloud from the funnies in Puck the Comic Weekly, opening with a Hopalong Cassidy story. Hopalong, Lucky, California and Don Raymond ride after the outlaw Slote, who has lured them from the ranch and taken Felipe, the son of Don Raymond. Felipe, who has been pretending to be blind, pulls a gun on Slote's men at their hideout in an abandoned stone quarry. The strip stops there, with the outcome left for next week. Other comics read in the same program include Prince Valiant, Donald Duck, Dagwood and Blondie, Roy Rogers, Flash Gordon, Dick's Adventures and Rusty Riley.

A radio program in which the Comic Weekly Man reads the comic strips from Puck the Comic Weekly, with the strips' scenes described in the reading, including a western ranch and hideout, a mountain pass, a city street and house, a Western trail, the moon, a naval battle, and a dirt road by a sawmill.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
