What happens

The Comic Weekly Man reads the funny pages to two children, Little Miss Honey and a listener, after Halloween. Hopalong Cassidy and the cavalry are trapped in a stage station by Indian attackers, with Hoppy riding away to bring help. Prince Valiant and his young son Prince Arn have a day roaming the countryside, where Arn gets lost and meets a wolf. Flash Gordon is brought before Queen Menta of Mars, who suspects his weapons and his mission. Dagwood and Blondie chase a hat through a department store, and Roy Rogers and Jack Spratt are caught in a pit at Blot Kramer's ranch. Alice meets the Mad Hatter and the March Hare at an unbirthday party, and Dick's crew escapes Tripoli by stealing a ship. Rusty Riley and Snowflake face a gunman at the county fair race.

Comic strip pages read aloud, covering the Old West, Camelot-era Europe, Mars, a small American town, Wonderland, Tripoli and a county fair.

Listen for: Listen for the Comic Weekly Man reading each strip in turn, with the story moving from one page to the next.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
