What happens
Gracie Allen advises her teenage neighbor Emily Vanderlip that a wife must be the boss, and recounts how she taught George Burns this lesson on their honeymoon train to Niagara Falls. George insists that men are the boss, and a test of this claim follows at home. Emily and Harold Green have a quarrel, and the two couples end up bickering over who commands whom. The episode is part of the George Burns and Gracie Allen series, broadcast on November 18, 1948, with Burns and Allen as the leads.
The Burns home, and a train bound for Niagara Falls in flashback
Characters: George Burns, Gracie Allen, Emily Vanderlip, Harold Green, Bill Goodwin
Listen for: Gracie's honeymoon lesson on who gives the orders, and the kitchen test where Burns refuses to scrub the floor
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
