What happens
Gracie Allen and George Burns discuss a novel and then Gracie decides her friend Tootsie needs a love potion to find a husband. Gracie borrows a can of powder from Mr. Bowling Broke, a pool hall acquaintance who claims it comes from an oriental potentate. The couple tests it on the household duck, the postman and then George, and each attempt produces a comic result. Bill Goodwin, Paul Whiteman and Tootsie all take part in the scheming, and the episode continues as the potion's effects keep getting mixed up with talk of Swan soap. This is the Burns and Allen radio series, broadcast on CBS and NBC Radio on June 22, 1943, with Gracie Allen, Bea Benaderet, Meredith Willson and Mel Blanc in the cast.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
