What happens

Gracie Allen tries to break the news of last month's Christmas bills to her husband George Burns, first by baking the bills inside biscuits and then by pretending she has been sent to prison. The Burns and Allen series aired on CBS and NBC Radio, and this episode first aired on January 9, 1947, with George Burns and Gracie Allen in the lead roles. Gracie's plans keep going wrong as she schemes around her husband's anger over the spending, and George treats the situation as a lesson in not signing checks she cannot cover.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
