What happens

George Burns discovers that his wife Gracie Allen's Beverly Hills Uplift Society is meeting at their house, and that the club has voted to admit Ida Cantor, wife of Eddie Cantor. Gracie fills the room with members who gossip and chatter about their husbands and their own plans. George, who has been arguing that Gracie is far too easily led, goes to Eddie Cantor's house to seek advice on how to manage a wife. Eddie joins him at the house to see the club in action, and he and George quickly find themselves facing a room of cheerful, determined women. The episode is a light domestic comedy set in the Burns household, built on the club's odd rules and its members' whims.

The Burns house in Beverly Hills, on a Tuesday, and the Cantor house nearby.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
