What happens
George and Gracie spend a Tuesday at home while George prepares to go to the office. Gracie hosts Pat O'Brien, a former high school sweetheart, and the two reminisce about old friends whose whereabouts become a running muddle of names. George, meanwhile, delivers a lecture on wartime spending and reminds Gracie that scarce goods should be saved. Gracie and George are also busy with household sentiment, digging through closets and boxes of keepsakes. The episode is a light domestic comedy of wartime Los Angeles life, presented on CBS with Bill Goodwin as announcer and Felix Mills' orchestra. Gracie Allen and George Burns carry the story, with Bea Benaderet, Meredith Willson and Mel Blanc also in the cast.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
