What happens

Gracie Allen and George Burns host their Tuesday night radio program on CBS, broadcast on September 28, 1943, with Bill Goodwin, Bea Benaderet, Meredith Willson and Mel Blanc in the cast, and film actress Ann Sheridan as guest. Gracie takes a letter for Sheridan to the Burns house, where George tests his susceptibility to her glamour before she arrives. Bill Goodwin is quickly enchanted by Sheridan and behaves foolishly, so Gracie and the others try a series of schemes to bring him back to his senses. Each attempt to disillusion him runs into trouble, and the household keeps weighing new plans as the afternoon goes on.

Listen for: Bill Goodwin's lovesick behaviour toward Ann Sheridan and the household's increasingly desperate efforts to cure him.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
