What happens

Reporter George Harvey and editor Susan Armstrong of the Hillsdale Morning Star clash over Connor Gaston, a promoter selling shares in a new oil development in town. George has been investigating the company and vows to print his suspicions, and a menacing visitor warns him to print only praise. Susan dismisses his claims, and the two are soon sparring over dinner invitations and rival appointments. Bright Star is an old-time radio comedy, and Irene Dunn and Fred MacMurray star as Susan and George. The transcript ends before the scheme's full course is revealed.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
