What happens
Dan Garrett, a rookie patrolman secretly working as the Blue Beetle, teams up with his friend Dr. Franz to pursue a dope ring operating in the city. After Dan tackles a peddler outside a suspect hotel, a car opens fire, leaving Dan and the peddler wounded in the street. Dan's recovery is aided by a mysterious formula from Dr. Franz, and afterward Dan visits the apothecary shop to examine the bullet that was removed from him. The bullet points to a particular type of French machine gun, leading Dan to search the city for its owner.
