What happens
In Dawson City, Sergeant Blair and Constable Marshall look into the murders of two miners on the Indian River Trail, both shot with a small-caliber rifle and robbed, with only bear tracks near the bodies. Blair learns that James Proust, one of the victims, was engaged to Hattie Bell and had told Mamie Scott that he was bringing down a large amount of gold. Blair sets a trap, using a constable posing as a miner carrying a stake along the Thompson ravine trail. Watching from cover, the police follow the suspicious movements of the woman, while Joel, an Indian tracker, keeps a close watch on the area. The series is Blair of the Mounties, and the episode first aired on February 28, 1938.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
