What happens

Inspector Ralph of Scotland Yard investigates the bludgeoning of James Friskin, a retired gentleman living in a London suburb with his young wife Anne and his cousin Alma Goutpin. Friskin hires a young handyman, Dick Terry, to repair the garden wall, and Alma grows suspicious of the close friendship between Anne and the boy. When Friskin is found nearly dead, Terry is held on a charge of assault while the inspector weighs the evidence. The episode is part of The Black Museum, an anthology drawn from the files of Scotland Yard's Criminal Investigation Department and introduced by Orson Welles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
