What happens

Abbott and Costello drive to Palm Springs to recruit actress Veronica Lake for their next picture. Costello has wrecked Mrs. Niles' car and tries to put it right before she finds out, and the pair argue over who should drive a rented car. At the Swanky Palm Hotel they run into confusion over room numbers and a mix-up involving a bellboy. They then find Veronica Lake, who is busy making a picture of her own, and Costello and Abbott are put to work on the set under director Nizzaro. The episode is part of the Abbott and Costello radio series, broadcast on NBC in December 1943, and features Bud Abbott and Lou Costello with Connie Haines and Elvia Allman.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
